Elton John And Snoop Dogg To Headline HMS Bestival 2013

Keeping to the conventional diversity of music and unique artists that Bestival offers, this year the organisers have done it again and confirmed that hip hop star Snoop Dogg will join icon and legend Elton John in headlining the main stage.

With the festival program already at a nascent stage, Radio 1's Rob da Bank has released a line-up that is already bursting with interest as the festival tries to implement itself into the revellers mindset before its rivals begin to announce theirs.

Bearing in mind that Bestival, located on the Isle of Wight, being the last high-profile festival off the season, is also one of the first to announce a line-up with such depth.

With the bespoke festival still over eight months away, beginning on the 5th September, many aficionados are already buzzing with idolatries as they voice their opinions, discussing the line-up over social networking sites.

Traditionally a fancy-dress festival, reports are suggesting that Elton will more than likely appear spruced up for the occasion. In 1980, Elton played in New York's Central Park in a donald duck outfit, so one can imagine Elton might feel right at home in the delirious party on the Isle of Wight. Further more, he will be more than familiar with travelling to the channel island, as he was a VIP guest at the first ever Isle of Wight festival in 1969, taking his friends to go see a certain Bob Dylan.

The festival, celebrating its 10 year anniversary, will be known as HMS Bestival this year, as it's fancy dress theme this year delves into the water. Elton John as a sailor? Just maybe.

US rap legend Snoop Dogg, who recently changed his name and now goes by the pseudonym of Snoop Lion, will be headlining one of the other nights entertainment along with MIA on the other.

Joining the fellow rapper will be eight boys from Brooklyn known as Wu-Tang Clan who will bring their '36 Chambers of Death' to the small island. Although, any fans dawning to the festival this year to see the group best be warned, they are notoriously known for leaving a few members behind.

Other notable acts include Franz Ferdinand, Bombay Bicycle Club, The Roots, Sinead O'Connor and up and coming indie group Peace, who will be well worth a look as 2013 looks set to be a huge year for the group.

And keeping in with the medley that the festival offers, the DJ line-up still looks just as impressive as Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, Annie Mac, Mark Ronson and a host of artists from Hospitality Records pump beats, breaks and euphoria through the island. There is also an evening paying a tribute to French disc jockeys Daft Punk.
