The HMV employee that used the company’s official Twitter account to embark on a tweet tirade yesterday has spoken out about the ordeal, claiming that bosses ‘never seemed to grasp the importance’ of social media as a means to communicate with customers.
We reported yesterday that a member of staff at HMV had gone rogue, tweeting about 60 staff who were being fired ‘at once’ following the company entering administration last month. She wrote “We’re tweeting live from HR where we’re all being fired! Exciting!! #hmvXFactorFiring. There are 60 of us being fired at once! Mass execution, of loyal employees who love the brand. Sorry we’ve been quiet for so long. Under contract, we’ve been unable to say a word, or - more importantly - tell the truth.”
Now, the woman behind it all - Poppy Rose - has taken to her own Twitter account to talk about it. She wrote:
She then, quite comically, tweeted the company advising them on how to remove her as an admin.
@hmvtweets you need to go to 'settings' and revoke my account access as an admin. I'm still able to switch between accounts.
