Sony Music Allegedly Take Swedish Man To Court Over Beyonce Album Leak

Sony Music Entertainment Take Swedish Man To Courts Over $233,000 Beyonce Leak Claim

Sony Music Entertainment are allegedly attempting to sue a Swedish man for $233,000 (1.5million Swedish Kronor), after he leaked Beyonce’s latest album ‘4’ before it’s intended release date.

The massive company are hoping to take the leaker - a 47 year-old male from Gothenburg, Sweden whose name remains unknown - to the courts, and have filed a case to Gothenburg District Court.

They claim that the man - believed to work in the music industry - shared Beyonce’s album ‘4’ weeks before it’s scheduled release, which was on June 24th 2011. They also say that this damaged their relationship with the singer and also affected their sales.

It’s not the first time Sony Music have been involved in similar incidents recently - they took two English men to court in May 2011 after they apparently stole and downloaded thousands of tracks from the company, including unrelease Michael Jackson music.

While music piracy has been a thorn in the side of many industry big wigs, we’re sure Beyonce wasn’t affected by the leak too badly - she’s still going strong, and tours the UK this April and May. Check below to find tickets through Stereoboard if you haven’t grabbed yours yet!
