Union J Sign Major Book Deal With Penguin

X Factor boyband Union J have signed a major book deal with publishers Penguin - despite their first single having not yet hit shelves!

The band made waves in the pop scene after appearing on reality talent contest show X Factor last year, and are now working on what will be their debut album. But, prior to the album - or even a single - hitting shelves, publisher Michael Joseph has acquired the memoirs of the band - who are widely tipped to be the next big thing in the charts.

Formerly known as Triple J (before George Shelley joined), they have astonishingly already acquired 900,000 followers on Twitter, and are expected to release their first single in June 2013 through RCA Records, under Crown Talent and Media Group. An album is expected to follow later in the year.

Editorial Director Daniel Bunyard acquired world rights from Liz Shaylor and Mark Brittain of Syco Entertainment Ltd, following a hotly-contested auction, along with rights to publish their first official children's annual, to be published by Puffin.

Bunyard said: “I'm over the moon to be working with Union J on their first book. They have huge talent, a great chemistry together and a genuine passion towards what they're doing. This will be a massive title for later this year, packed full of exclusive, beautifully-shot photography.”

Not too much is currently known about for the four-piece, other than that they’re tipped to be the next big thing. For now, check out their website, and stay with Stereoboard to stay up-to-date on the band.
