NB Audio Unveil New Snap Shot EP 'Dark Shadow'

Thursday, 25 April 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

If you’re into the darker side of electronic music, Manchester is the place to be for you right now - the likes of DRS, Skittles, Dub Phizix, Fox, Estate Recordings, and Virus Syndicate are just a few of the names that are heating up the scene right now. Now, we have yet another brilliant label to introduce you to, and they’ve already lined-up an epic EP from Snap Shot to mark it’s release.

NB Audio - aka NBA - is a brand new, independent ‘alternative electronica dance’ label, that you’re going to be hearing a lot more about in the coming future. They mean business, so what better way to introduce yourself than with a hellfire EP from their cohorts Snap Shot, the new alias of Da Intalex man Mark XTC and North Base’s Microcosm.

Dubbed the ‘Dark Shadow’ EP, it features four of the new duo’s tracks - and if they’re anything to go by, this label has some serious plans for the future. It’s title track, featuring the vocal talents of Tonn Piper, is absolute danger and a perfect blend of classic evil drum and bass and the modern day darkness we’re fortunately being treated to at the moment. Piper’s lyrical content is top notch too - so for all you MC lovers, you’ve got something to look out for.

Also featuring a wicked halftime drum and bass number (‘Dooms’), a bass-heavy 140bpm track (‘Wave Length’), and a house tune ('Blow Yer Mind') so grimey even a hardcore dnb-lover like myself can appreciate it, it’s not only a testament to the production talents of both Mark XTC and Microcosm, it highlights the eclecticism of the label - meaning we have big expectations for NBA.

You can check out a preview of the title track below - we advise you grab the EP when it hits shelves on Monday, April 29th. You can grab it here when it’s out.
