Wes Scantlin - frontman of American rockers Puddle of Mudd - has been arrested and charged with domestic violence, after allegedly assaulting his ex-wife.
According to TMZ, the vocalist was arrested on Monday (May 13th) in Los Angeles, after the police were called to deal with an incident at a ‘business’ involving Scantlin and his ex-wife Jessica Nicole Smith.
Scantlin reportedly shook Smith, and then dragged her by her arm and/or shirt in front of a load of witnesses - the event took place at just 3:30pm in the afternoon. He is now currently in custody with a bail set at $20,0000.
The musician, who was reportedly ‘very mouthy’ and ‘extremely uncooperative’ during his arrest, is already in trouble with the police - he was arrested earlier this month due to warrants for a cocaine possession case last year.
Other felonies Scantlin boasts on his record range from swimming in an off-limits pool, to dodging taxes, to driving misdemeanors, to being drunk and disorderly. He and his former fiancee Michelle Rubin were even arrested for domestic violence back in 2002 - after they were spotted fighting on the side of a highway!
We’ll have to wait and see how this story pans out - but for now, we can at least say their track ‘She Hates Me’ has probably never rung so true.
