Drake Wants To Talk To Rival Chris Brown 'Man To Man'

Tuesday, 18 June 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Canadian rapper Drake has opened up about his ongoing feud with Chris Brown - claiming that he doesn’t want to be ‘synonymous’ with his name, and that he’d like to talk things out ‘man to man’.

The pair have been embroiled in a rivalry for almost exactly a year, when the two stars and their entourages got into a physical altercation at a nightclub in New York - an incident which saw bottles thrown and eight people injured.

After 12 months of Twitter fights, diss tracks, and a bit of a tiff over Rihanna, it appears that the feud may be beginning to fizzle out. Drake seems like he wants to be the bigger man and talk it out, but he knows such a scenario is unlikely.

He told GQ:

“I don't want my name to be synonymous with that guy's name. I really don't. I wish we could sit down, just like you and me are right now, and talk it out man to man. But that's not going to happen. I'm not confrontational, but if someone challenges, I'm not going to back down.”

“It's embarrassing, the amount of media coverage. Two rappers fighting over the woman. He's not even a rapper, but still, it's the last way you want your name out there. It distracts from the music.”

He added finally:

“But he's made me the enemy, and that's the way it's gonna stay, I guess. If I think about it too much, I feel it wrapping around my foot, like I get a feeling it could end really badly.”
