John Newman States He'd Like To Work Wth One Direction

Monday, 08 July 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

British soul singer John Newman has stated that he’d like to work with world-beating boyband One Direction.

The 23-year-old is making a name for himself as a musician and singer at the moment - he scored his first  #1 single yesterday with ‘Love Me Again’. But speaking to MTV News, he revealed he’d work as a producer, even with the likes of One Direction.

Asked by MTV if he’d work with Harry Styles and co., Newman replied:

“Yeah... As a producer, I want everything to have a tinge of me so people will know, 'Oh that must have been a John Newman track'. So definitely, if the opportunity is there, I would work with anybody that I fully appreciate and I think is amazing.”

He continued on to talk about shows such as X Factor, which made 1D famous.

“I think the marketing idea behind it is absolutely genius and it's worked really well for people who've done it. Regarding the artists, it's good because some artists don't get recognised and it's nice for people to be able to help. I think it is definitely a good thing, to get more people on the market that maybe wouldn't do or wouldn't have the confidence to do everything themselves.”
