Blur To Release New Album After Damon Albarn's Solo Album Hits Shelves

Wednesday, 10 July 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Blur will release another album after frontman Damon Albarn puts out his next solo album, according to reports.

Albarn has spent the year on his highly-acclaimed ‘Monkey’ opera, which is currently running in New York, but he’s also just finished work on a solo record too. And, speaking to the Wall Street Journal, he’s claimed that after it comes out, Blur will crack on with their next album too.

Speaking of his solo record, he told WSJ:

“You can hear a lot, what’s going on. It’s quite intimate.”

The paper then states that Blur ‘will work on a new album’ after his own record hits shelves. It comes after recent news that saw an unofficial Gorillaz website claim that collaborator Jamie Hewlett revealed Blur were working a new album at a recent press conference - check our coverage of it here.
