Ticket Fraudster Describes Prison As 'Best Holiday Ever'

Friday, 30 August 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

A serial ticket fraudster has caused widespread anger this week after describing his time in prison as ‘the best holiday ever’.

Amrik Gill - who had previously gloated about receiving a 12-month suspended sentence last year - was jailed after once again being found guilty of selling concert and sporting tickets he didn’t actually have to sell.

After being released from prison halfway through his term, he once again took to Twitter to belittle the justice system, describing it as ‘the best holiday ever’ and thanking taxpayers for ‘making it possible’.

Norman Lewis, the councillor of Chorlton Park, told The Daily Mail:

“He's just sticking his fingers up to the law and to society, that's what he's doing. Individuals like this are just callous people who don't give a damn about how they get their money. Let's hope if he carries on offending now he's out of prison, he gets a longer sentence fit for purpose.”

Police and Crime Commissioner Tony Lloyd also commented, saying:

“Gill had 140 characters - it's a real shame he didn't use them to apologise to his victims.”
