David Bowie Confirmed As Backing Vocalist On Arcade Fire's Reflektor

Tuesday, 10 September 2013 Written by Huw Baines

David Bowie has confirmed a collaboration with Arcade Fire on their single Reflektor, having provided backing vocals on the long-awaited release.

The single landed on September 9 following a long marketing campaign, with a limited edition 12" accompanied by an interactive music video for the song. The album, of the same name, is expected on October 29.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Bowie's people revealed that the legendary artist provides a small snippet of vocals on the song:

"We can confirm that David Bowie has supplied a brief backing vocal on the James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem) produced track (no saxophone though), which is being issued under the alias of The Reflektors."

Check out the video for Reflektor, directed by Anton Corbijn, below and be sure to run the rule over its interactive sister piece here.
