David Bowie Reveals Plans For 'The Next Day' Re-Release Featuring Four New Tracks

Monday, 30 September 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

David Bowie has announced plans to re-release his 24th studio album ‘The Next Day’ later this year, complete with four new bonus tracks.

Titled ‘The Next Day Extra’, the new reissue is set to be spread over three discs, and along with the 14 track original version fans will also receive new cuts Like A Rocket Man, Born in a UFO, The Informer, and Atomica. There’s also God Bless the Girl, which was previously only available on Deluxe and Japanese versions of the album.

The album, which first hit shelves in a surprise release from Bowie earlier this year, will also include a remix of Love Is Lost by LCD Soundsystem man James Murphy, as well as a Venetian remix of I'd Rather Be High. There are also three more tracks which featured on the Deluxe version too.

Bowie lovers who grab the collection will be also be treated to a DVD featuring music videos for title track The Next Day, Valentine’s Day, The Stars (Are Out Tonight), and Where Are We Now?

‘The Next Day Extra’ is set for a release on November 4, days after the Mercury Prize announcement which could very well see Bowie’s latest effort recognised as the album of the year. Is ‘The Next Day’ a worthy winner? Leave us a comment in the box below!
