Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister has spoken out about his recent health scares, assuring fans that there is nothing to worry about and the band will be back on stage for their annual Autumn trek.
Lemmy has spoken out following Motorhead drummer Mikkey Dee's recent advice to the iconic bassist, concerned that his bandmate may not have learned any lessons from the health scare.
“I think after all he’s been through, I’d say this: ‘Lem, when are you going to get sick and tired of feeling sick and tired? it’s time you started to take care of yourself.’”
Speaking to Classic Rock Magazine about the recent struggles, Lemmy reveals:
“It was nothing; I’m over it. I can still stand at that mic every night and play my songs. I’m getting better. By the time the tour comes around I’ll be ready. We plan to go on [even when I can't tour]. Maybe we’ll just make albums – we’ll be like The Beatles after 1966.”
Despite the health problems, Lemmy and co. are back in action for their traditional Autumn UK trek next month. The trio recently announced a second show at Glasgow’s O2 Academy for the tour . This year, they will be bringing the Heavy Metal monster that is Saxon with them as very special guests. German rockers, Skew Siskin will once again be taking to the road as support, having opened for Motorhead on their 2010 UK tour. UK Subs, one of the most revered punk band of all time, will support at the second Brixton show ONLY.
Prior to the tour, on October 21, Motörhead will deliver their 21st studio album, an enormous and prophetic 'Aftershock'. Recorded in North Hollywood, it is a true leveller, a crushing confirmation of everything Motörhead stands for.
