Pop rockers the Jonas Brothers have cancelled their North American tour just days before it was set to begin amid rumours that they may be about to split.
The trio have been hard at work on their fifth album, ‘V’, the follow-up to their 2009 record ‘Lines, Vines and Trying Times’, for the past year. Despite a 2013 release date being set, the LP is yet to surface.
Fans have been hopeful that an announcement would be coming soon, but now they’ve been hit with more negative news as the boys have pulled out of their October and November North American tour, just two days before it's set to kick off in Philadelphia.
The new trek was being billed as the brothers' comeback tour, as the trio have not stepped into the live spotlight for quite a while, but now it seems the whole future of the band (and not just their new album and tour) is in jeopardy.
Speaking to fans via a statement to People, a Jonas Brothers spokesperson said:
“There is a deep rift within the band, there was a big a disagreement over their music direction. [Their future] remains to be seen.”
