Download Festival, Arctic Monkeys and Rudimental were among the winners at the UK Festival Awards on December 2.
Download won Best Major Festival, with Arctic Monkeys’ Glastonbury set selected by fan vote as Headline Performance Of The Year. Rudimental took home the award for Breakthrough Act.
Elsewhere, Kendal Calling won Best Medium Festival, Bearded Theory secured Best Small Festival and 2000trees was named Best Grassroots Event. Creamfields won the dance category, with Latitude snagging Best Lineup.
We Are FSTVL was confirmed as Best New Festival, having launched at Damyn’s Hall Aerodrome in Essex this year, while Dot To Dot was the winner in the Best Metropolitan category. Nile Rodgers appeared via videolink to accept a prize for Anthem Of The Summer, which went to his Daft Punk collaboration Get Lucky, and ArcTanGent came up smelling of roses in the Best Toilets rundown.
Meanwhile, Green Man owner and director Fiona Stewart was honoured with the Outstanding Achievement award, Camp Bestival was awarded Best Family Festival and Snowbombing was named Best Overseas Festival.
James Drury, managing director of the awards, said:
"In this, our 10th year, we had the most fiercely-fought competition for the awards yet. There were so many incredible events taking place this year that it’s not surprising that 575,000 votes were cast by fans from across the world. Congratulations to all those who made it into the finals – it’s no mean feat to make it into the top 10, considering over 340 festivals entered this year."
