Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum selling, Madison Square Garden conquering singer songwriter Ed Sheeran has announced his return to the UK and Ireland for his first headline tour since Autumn 2012.
Ed Sheeran has enjoyed a meteoric rise. The 22-year old’s debut album '+' entered the UK Album Chart at #1 with the highest opening week figures for a debut male solo artist ever. The record has since been certified 6x platinum.
The multi-award winning Sheeran was recently hand-picked by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson, to write, produce and record I See Fire, an original song for the film The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Check out the track below.
Speaking about the new tour, Sheeran says:
"I can't wait to tour this new record, it's been a long time coming. Looking forward to touring the UK and Ireland once again!"
Sheeran kicks off his new tour on October 6 at Dublin's O2 Arena before performing at Belfast Odyssey Arena on October 10. The tour then heads to arenas in Leeds, London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Newcastle and Manchester, before closing at Glasgow Hydro Arena on October 30.
