More Bands Confirmed For Bloodstock 2014

Tuesday, 14 January 2014 Written by Jon Stickler

Four more bands have been confirmed for Bloodstock Festival 2014, with hardcore legends Biohazard, Revamp, Israeli progressive metallers Orphaned Land and Belgian death metal outfit Aborted joining the line up for the Derbyshire metal fest.

Friday night’s headliners are New Orleans sludgemeisters, Down. Joining them to head up Saturday night are black metal overlords, Emperor and closing out proceedings on Sunday are the mighty thrash legends, Megadeth. Also announced so far are Amon Amarth, Obituary, Crowbar, Hatebreed, Lacuna Coil, Carcass, Prong, Children Of Bodom, Saxon, Decapitated, Flotsam & Jetsam, Primordial and Evil Scarecrow. More bands due to be announced in the coming weeks.

In addition to the heavyweights, Bloodstock firmly believes in supporting the grass roots of the genre and helping grow the new wave of metal bands. Their Metal 2 The Masses programme is a key part of that and the 2014 scheme is go! There’s still time to sign up your - or your favourite unsigned local band - to one of the regional heats and maybe win a chance at playing at this year’s festival! Full details on the various locations for the heats and who to contact to enter are available here.

Bloodstock 2014 is shaping up to be the strongest yet, with early bird and rock society tickets selling out in record time. Bloodstock will be held at Catton Park, Derbyshire from August 7 to August 10 2014 and you can keep check on all the very latest information over at the festival's official site, Facebook and Twitter.

Tickets are available now priced £130 (plus booking fee) for a 4-day Thursday to Sunday weekend pass with camping. VIP tickets and upgrades are also now available, as well as the very popular ticket deposit scheme, which helps make ticket purchase a bit more manageable, breaking the payment over three months.
