Augustines, Chrissie Hynde, Future Islands Heading To Latitude

Wednesday, 30 April 2014 Written by Huw Baines

Augustines, Chrissie Hynde and Future Islands have been added to the bill for this summer’s Latitude Festival, joining headliners Damon Albarn, Two Door Cinema Club and the Black Keys.

Also heading to Henham Park, between July 17 and 20, are Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott, the Jayhawks, Rhodes, Tycho, D.D Dumbo, Vaults, Solomon Grey, Years & Years, Elliphant, Childhood, MNEK, Syd Arthur and Danni Nicholls.

Augustines will tackle the BBC 6 Music Tent, which will be headlined by Mogwai, Royksopp & Robyn and Lykke Li. They said:

“Festivals are very unique and each one has their own little charm. Latitude 2012 was really fun for us. Not only was it slightly humorous to see the pink sheep wandering around but we all enjoyed the quaint little boat ride which we were privileged to take to get us to the stage.

“The great thing about Latitude is it’s vibe. It’s a big festival but there is a great sense of community and intimacy. Hopefully the weather will be as glorious as it was the last time. If you see us walking around, come and say hello…if not, we’ll see you down the front.”

Hynde, meanwhile, is gearing up to release her first solo album, ‘Stockholm’, on June 9. She has previous with Latitude after playing the event with the Pretenders. She added:

“Latitude is turning into one of the great British festivals. The site and the atmosphere really make it a very special weekend, so of course I am particularly looking forward to playing there this year. When The Pretenders played there in 2009 it was amazing and this year should be even better. I’m very happy to be back.”

Latitude Festival Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows:

Thu July 17 2014 - SOUTHWOLD Henham Park
