Parquet Courts will head to the UK in November for a string of shows as part of the PCPC supergroup and under the Parkay Quarts moniker.
PCPC finds the indie quartet teaming up with PC Worship, with gigs planned in Ramsgate and London, while Parkay Quarts will play the Wardrobe in Leeds and a London date at the Laundry.
Andrew Savage, Parquet Courts’ frontman, offered the following statement to Pitchfork:
“Like P-Funk, MinuteFlag, Ciccone Youth, Loutallica and Red House Chili Painters (bet you didn't know about that one), PCPC is what happens when two legendary rock juggernauts join forces. In this instance, members of PC Worship and Parquet Courts have merged into a NY noise-rock confederacy, each band bringing their own sonic distinctions. Spawning from a long history of playing shows together as separate entities, PCPC is born out of an aesthetic solidarity, and will to create something new. Look for them this Fall in select cities throughout USA and Europe.”
Meanwhile, the band have also released a video for Bodies Made Of, the opening track on their ‘Subathing Animal’ record. The clip was directed by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, who also helmed the forthcoming Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds film, 20,000 Days On Earth.
