Phil Collins Announces End Of Retirement, Possible New Music And Tour Plans

Thursday, 29 October 2015 Written by Huw Baines

Phil Collins is on the comeback trail.

Four years after stepping away from music to spend time with his children, a new Rolling Stone profile reports that Collins is preparing to record new music and could also soon hit the road. He told the magazine's Andy Greene:

"I'm no longer officially retired. The horse is out of the stable and I'm raring to go."

Collins released ‘Testify’ in 2002 and the ‘Going Back’ covers album eight years later. Discussing the possibility of touring, he added:

"I don't think I want a very long tour. But I would like to play the stadiums in Australia and the Far East, and that's the only way to do that. But there's a part of me that just wants to do theaters, so we'll see."

Collins is currently prepping the reissue of his solo catalogue, beginning with ‘Face Value’ and ‘Both Sides’.
