Phil Collins is a British singer-songwriter, musician and producer from Chiswick, Middlesex. Starting his music career in 1968, as the drummer for Flaming Youth, he joined Genesis in 1970, and became the group’s lead vocalist after the departure of Peter Gabriel in 1975, until 1993.
He released his debut solo album, ‘Face Value’ in 1981, which featured the track, In the Air Tonight, and hit #1 in the UK Albums Chart. His second solo album, ‘Hello, I Must Be Going!’, came out in 1982, reached #2 in the UK but it was his third album, ‘No Jacket Required’, which came out in 1985, that was an international success, hitting #1 in several countries including the USA. ‘...But Seriously’, released in 1989, continued the success. ‘Both Sides’ came out in 1993, ‘Dance into the Light’, in 1996, and ‘Testify’ in 2002. His latest album, ‘Going Back’, came out in 2010.
Phil Collins played London’s Hyde Park as part of British Summer Time in 2017, with rescheduled London Royal Albert Hall shows in November, alongside newly announced UK arena shows, part of his 'Not Dead Yet Tour'.
