Welsh author and cult icon Howard Marks has died aged 70.
Marks, aka Mr Nice, who was born in Kenfig Hill, Bridgend and was known for his drug smuggling past, revealed in January 2015 that he was suffering from inoperable bowel cancer, but made it clear he had "no regrets" about his life.
During his lifetime Marks wrote five books, stood for election to Parliament, lobbied for the legalisation of cannabis, collaborated with the Super Furry Animals on 'Fuzzy Logic', embarked on solo tours and appeared at numerous festivals, including Glastonbury, Beautiful Days, RockNess, Camp Bestival, Kendal Calling and Sonisphere Festival.
Since the news of his passing early this morning a series of tributes have appeared online.
