Craig Gill, drummer for Inspiral Carpets, has died aged 44.
The Manchester band, who formed in 1983 and released their first new album in 20 years in 2014, confirmed the news with a statement posted to their social media channels.
Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher and Tim Burgess, vocalist of the Charlatans, are among the musicians to have paid tribute to Gill.
