Petrol Girls Release Video For Touch Me Again

Friday, 21 April 2017 Written by Jennifer Geddes

Petrol Girls have released a video for their latest single, Touch Me Again.

The track is taken from their debut album, ‘Talk of Violence’, which came out in 2016. The clip features phone video submissions from the band's fans. Vocalist Ren Aldridge says of the video:

"The song grew from my own experiences of sexual violence, both within and outside of the punk community and from our commitment to speaking about consent whenever we get an opportunity.

We hope that this video project has opened that platform up to more people that share the same or similar experiences, and that this collective project has been in some way empowering.

The protest chant 'MY BODY MY CHOICE' is becoming more and more relevant as political attacks on women and other marginalised bodies increase. Hopefully this video can be just one small way of helping us remember that there are many of us, and together we are powerful."

Petrol Girls are set to support Strike Anywhere on their UK tour this April, as well as appear at 2000 Trees FestivalRebellion Festival and Boomtown Fair.
