Hacienda Classical To Open Glastonbury

Haçienda Classiçal will open this year's Glastonbury festival.

Graeme Park, Mike Pickering and the Manchester Camerata Orchestra, along with guests, are set to get things underway on the Pyramid Stage on June 23.

Following a number of rumours regarding the news, it was confirmed when Glastonbury retweeted an announcement from the The Haçienda's Twitter account.

The festival also recently announced that Corinne Bailey Rae will support Brian Wilson at the Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza on August 5, during which he will play 'Pet Sounds' in full. Head here for further details.

Glastonbury returns to Worthy Farm between June 21 and 25. Acts confirmed for the bill include Radiohead, Foo Fighters, Ed Sheeran, the xx, Lorde, Katy Perry, Barry Gibb, Royal Blood, Stormzy, Chic, Major Lazer, alt-J, Boy Better Know, Solange, Run The Jewels, Laura Marling, Kris Kristofferson and the Jacksons, plus loads more.
