Scissor Sisters and MNDR have combined for a new single.
It’s called SWERLK and has been released in support of Contigo Fund, which was set up following the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida last summer. In a statement accompanying the track, they said:
Scissor Sisters and MNDR, along with the rest of the world, were deeply affected by the PULSE nightclub shooting in Orlando, FL. It wasn’t just an attack on the LGBTQ community, but on one of its sacred spaces: the dance floor. On the one-year anniversary of the shooting, the two artists are teaming up not just to ensure violence against the gay community is still part of the national dialog, but to take back the dance floor.
SWERLK celebrates individuality, diversity, freedom, and fierceness. Scissor Sisters and MNDR are donating 100% of record sales and encouraging donations to the Contigo Fund, which emerged from the Pulse tragedy and offers financial support to organizations working to heal, educate and empower LGBTQ and Latinx individuals, immigrants and people of color, as well as those working to end all forms of bigotry in Central Florida.
