James Alex Announces First LP Under Quiet Slang Banner

Wednesday, 07 March 2018 Written by Huw Baines

James Alex has announced his first LP under the Quiet Slang banner.

The Beach Slang frontman will release ‘Everything Matters But No One Is Listening’ on May 18 through Polyvinyl, following up last year’s ‘We Were Babies & We Were Dirtbags’ EP.

The album was recorded with co-producer Dave Downham, cellist Dan Delaney, pianist Keith Giosa, Stacey Downham, Matt Weber, Charlie Lowe and New Jersey quartet the Warhawks. It’s made up of stripped back, re-worked songs from the Beach Slang catalogue. Check out Dirty Cigarettes below, following its premiere over at Stereogum.
