Vocalist David Jakes Leaves Lonely The Brave

Monday, 12 March 2018 Written by Huw Baines

Vocalist David Jakes has left Lonely The Brave.

The singer released two LPs with the Cambridge alt-rockers, but is now standing aside. “I’m afraid the problems I’ve been having, with touring and playing live, have made things really difficult concerning my mental health side of things,” he wrote in a statement, which you can read below.

The remaining members - guitarists Mark Trotter and Ross Smithwick, plus drummer Gavin Edgeley and bassist Andrew Bushen - will continue on with a new vocalist. “As a brother in music, vocalist and co-founder of the band, he has been integral to everything we’ve done,” they said.
