Discussing Meateater, which follows up last year's self-titled EP, singer and bandleader Lucinda John-Duarte said:
“I was thinking about how frustrating it is to be categorised or stereotyped. We’re always in competition with each other or ourselves, trying to sell ourselves like meat and hiding parts of our being in the process."
The band will play a headline London show at Corsica Studios on June 7. Tickets are on sale now, priced at £8.00 plus fees.
They will also support Porches at his London show next week, Nilüfer Yanya in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds and London next month, and appear at a number of festivals in the coming months, including Live At Leeds, Sound City, and the Great Escape.
