Black Thought Shares Title Track From Trayvon Martin Documentary Rest In Power

Wednesday, 25 July 2018 Written by Huw Baines

The Roots' Black Thought has released a new song.

Rest in Power is the title track for a new documentary series about the killing of Trayvon Martin, which is set to premiere on the Paramount Network on July 30.

"One killer, one child, one weapon," Black Thought raps in its opening verse. "The shooter was unthreatened, seventy-one seconds. So many unanswered questions, I see reflections of myself. I feel like in fatherhood we are connected. Too long before the shooter was arrested."

Among the series' executive producers are Martin’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, and rap legend Jay-Z. Check out the song and a trailer below.
