Moors and Tune-Yards Combine For New Track Mango

Friday, 10 August 2018 Written by Huw Baines

Moors, the musical project of Lakeith Stanfield and Hrishikesh Hirway, and Tune-Yards have collaborated on a new song called Mango.

Having crossed paths while Tune-Yards were scoring Boots Riley’s film Sorry To Bother You, which stars Stanfield, they’ve now combined on an experimental cut and a spectacular video animated by Ruff Mercy.

"He had really specific ideas about the track, different characters he wanted to give voice to, and we worked together to keep amping up the weird," Tune-Yards’ Merrill Garbus said of Stanfield. "Times are weird. Lakeith is reflecting his universes and creating new ones - it's fascinating and important and we're grateful and lucky to be a part of amplifying his voice."
