Pond Frontman Nicholas Allbrook Announces Co-Headline Dates With Peter Bibby

Monday, 10 September 2018 Written by Jon Stickler

Nicholas Allbrook and Peter Bibby will hit the road together later this month.

The Australian artists will link up for a string of dates, beginning at the Victoria in London on September 26, followed by stops in Birmingham, Glasgow and Manchester. Discussing their tour together, Allbrook, who used to play drums in Bibby’s band, said:

"Peter Bibby is one of my best friends. He is a rascal and a scoundrel. He can plaster a wall and drive a Long Paul van across Australia and back better than you can scratch yourself. He writes beautiful songs. When we lived in Melbourne together we'd sit on the porch and smoke. I'd make a jug of Julep and we'd play songs at the garden. Once we did a gig at the playground next to Northcott Plaza. We were, by turns, the sole audience and performers. He played songs that do that thing where they sound like they've been written and sung a thousand times before but definitely have not. Just pure human anthems vomiting out from the deep. Pete sings with his real voice - snot-vomit Gatorade bong Midland teenager, tragic poetic lover of people nature and art and words and laughs. Especially laughs. Pete sometimes sends me a clown emoji over the seas on a telephone to make me laugh. Sometimes I send him pictures of me looking like a thumb. Pete is a naughty man. A big boy. The biggest boy."

Allbrook has also shared a video accompanying his track, St Pete, which features vocals from Maud Nadal of Halo Maud and serves as the first solo material from the Pond frontman since 2016's 'Pure Gardiya'. Bibby, meanwhile, will release his second album, 'Grand Champion', on September 28 via Spinning Top.

Nicholas Allbrook Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows

Wed September 26 2018 - LONDON Victoria
Thu September 27 2018 - BIRMINGHAM Hare and Hounds
Fri September 28 2018 - GLASGOW Priory Bar
Sat September 29 2018 - MANCHESTER Yes Basement
