Cass McCombs will return with his ninth LP early in 2019.
Out on February 8 and engineered at Shahzad Ismaily’s Figure 8 Studios by Sam Owen, aka Brooklyn singer-songwriter Sam Evian, 'Tip of the Sphere' is preceded by its first song, Sleeping Volcanoes, which you can stream below.
In a statement, McCombs said the song describes "people passing each other on the sidewalk unaware of the emotional volatility they are brushing past, like a sleeping volcano that could erupt at any moment."
The folk rock singer-songwriter will accompany the release with a North American tour. He also plays a sold out show in London next month.
