Beirut Unveil Video For New Single Landslide Starring Game Of Thrones Actor Ian Beattie

Friday, 11 January 2019 Written by Jon Stickler

Zach Condon’s Beirut have shared a humorous video for their new single, Landslide.

The track is the third cut from their upcoming fifth LP, 'Gallipoli', which is set to land on February 1. It follows the previously shared title track and insturmental single Corfu

The soaring song features layers of different instruments, very much in keeping with Beirut’s back catalogue. Its accompanying clip, meanwhile, stars Game of Thrones actor Ian Beattie as a bumbling knight who battles man and beast to free a maiden in distress.

Beirut will follow up the record's release with a headlining North American tour starting next month and spring UK and European shows.

Beirut - Gallipoli (Album Review)
Fri 08 Feb 2019
Zach Condon’s fifth album as Beirut is an elegant, if twee, manifestation of his signature sound: sweet melodies woven into culturally diverse arrangements and boxy, distinctive production. It’s a decent record that will reward diehard fans, but it also somehow feels locked in the late ‘00s with Fleet Foxes and the Shins.

Tue 19 Feb 2019
Time is constant, but it rarely seems to be on our side. That’s particularly the case for a lot of bands, who are under pressure to maintain standards as their careers progress and, from certain quarters, to keep doing the same thing in perpetuity. Maxïmo Park’s ‘As Long As We Keep Moving’ is an attempt to reckon with that.
Spielbergs - This is Not the End (Album Review)
Fri 15 Feb 2019
To listen to Spielbergs’ debut album, ‘This is Not the End’, is to picture a room of people in black jeans and denim jackets, with the flash of a white sports sock above a tattered pair of Vans classics. It’s to picture sweat, euphoria, a giddy release of hoarse voices and spilled beer. If you are in your 30s, and coming to terms with the fact, it knows you. It feels the same way.
