Volbeat Announce New Album 'Rewind, Replay, Rebound' And Autumn UK Tour

Wednesday, 15 May 2019 Written by Jon Stickler

Volbeat will release a new album this summer.

The Danish rockers will put out 'Rewind, Replay, Rebound' on August 2 via Vertigo Records, followed by a UK and European tour beginning in September. Baroness and Danko Jones are set to support on all dates.

Album number seven boasts appearances from Clutch's Neil Fallon and guitarist Gary Holt of Slayer and Exodus, among others. The band have also shared the Leviathan, a punky, psychobilly riot which comes with a live performance video, as well as the album's artwork and tracklist, viewable below.

The news follows the release of the 39-second track Parasite last week and 2018's live album and concert film, 'Let’s Boogie! Live From Telia Parken'. Vocalist Michael Poulsen said:

"The whole point for us going into the studio, is because you still have something to prove - not just for the fans, but mostly for yourself. We would not be able to do this record if it wasn't for the work we have done in the past. No matter how old the band gets or how many records we do, there is always going to be that signature sound."

Tickets for the UK tour go on general sale sale at 9am on May 24. The dates will follow the band's shows with Slipknot, Gojira, and Behemoth on the North American Knotfest Roadshow from July to September.

'Rewind, Replay, Rebound' tracklist:

1. Last Day Under The Sun
2. Pelvis On Fire
3. Rewind The Exit
4. Die To Live - Volbeat, Neil Fallon

The end of any decade is, essentially, meaningless. We attach poignancy to it because we’re all narcissists in some way—we want this decade, our decade, to stand for something. Musically, the ‘90s did a better job than some of its peers in allowing us to think that: young people were swept up by grunge, or the gloss of modern R&B, or punk’s chart explosion, or the battle between the east and west coasts.
