Pijn And Conjurer Combine For Joint Album 'Curse These Metal Hands', Share First Single High Spirits

Tuesday, 04 June 2019 Written by Jon Stickler

Pijn and Conjurer have announced a joint album.

'Curse These Metal Hands' is scheduled to arrive on August 16 via Holy Roar Records and combines the talents of two of UK extreme metal's most exciting breakout bands in delivering what they call "some songs we made to induce joy."

The line up features Conjurer's Dan Nightingale and Brady Deeprose on guitar and vocals, which is also covered by Pijn's Joe Clayton, with his bandmates Nick Watmough and Luke Rees making up the rhythm section, on drums and bass respectively.

A departure from the dark, crushing material that we'd expect to hear from each band, lead single High Spirits builds slowly. They say: "[it comes] from a place of pushing through to find sick things even when life is a bit tricky… That and getting super stoned, and dogs snoring really loudly."

The track premiered on BBC Radio 1's Rock Show on June 3 and arrives with a lyric video viewable below. There's also an in-studio making-of documentary clip released by the group, who first got together at ArcTanGent Festival. They'll celebrate the release of the new joint effort at this year's event.

Both band's released their debut albums in 2018. Conjurer put out 'Mire' last March, while Pijn's 'Loss' arrived in October.
