The hip hop producer will release the primarily instrumental 'LOUIE' on August 31 via XL Recordings. Deeply personal, it was inspired by his ailing father, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer while Beats was in Bath working on Idles' fourth album 'Crawler' in December 2020.
Ahead of the release, the 31-year-old has been sharing teasers, comprising lo-fi recordings, complete with spoken-word interludes, on his YouTube channel. Head below to check out the latest clip, along with the LP's artwork and tracklist. He said in a statement:
"I always said that I wouldn’t do a solo album because I didn’t have anything to say. Finally, I did. Something dark turned into something beautiful. This album encapsulated the feeling of that one month."
