Loretta Lynn has died aged 90.

The country music star's publicist confirmed to Rolling Stone that she passed away at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.

Lynne's music career spans six decades and 60 albums, with her debut LP, 'Loretta Lynn Sings', arriving in 1963. Among her many hits was the song Coal Miner's Daughter, the title of which she also used for her 1976 autobiography that got made into an Oscar-winning film of the same name in 1980.

Her last album release was 2021's 'Still Woman Enough', a 13-track collection that celebrates women in country music with new recordings of several of Lynn's classic songs alongside interpretations of country standards. It was co-produced by the veteran singer-songwriter's daughter Patsy Lynn Russell with John Carter Cash and features Margo Price, Tanya Tucker, Reba McEntire and Carrie Underwood.

Lynn received a wealth of accolades, and is considered one of the most awarded woman in country music, having received Grammy Awards,  American Music Awards, and Country Music Association Awards, among others, throughout her prolific career.

She was the first woman in country music to receive a certified gold album for 1967's 'Don't Come Home A' Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind)', was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in New York City in 2008, received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award two years later and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Barack Obama In 2013. The list goes on.
