Ghost Release New Version Of Spillways Featuring Def Leppard's Joe Elliot

Thursday, 26 January 2023 Written by Jon Stickler

Ghost have shared a new version of their song Spillways featuring Def Leppard singer Joe Elliot.

The original track appears on the Swedish rockers' fifth album, 'Impera', which was released back in March 2022.

The revamp, meanwhile, stays pretty faithful to the arena-ready rock original, with the addition of the rock legend and avowed Ghost fan contributing guest vocals. He said:

"'Impera' was my favourite rock album of 2022… I found out along the way that Tobias is a bit of a fan of DL, so I guess it was inevitable we’d both find out about each other! Once we’d been introduced to the idea of working together it just snowballed organically and I’m thrilled that I got to sing on what is my favourite song from that album!"

Ghost teased the collaboration yesterday with a video titled 'Chapter 15: Meanwhile In Dublin', featuring Elliot being electrocuted in an Irish pub. It's the latest in their series of clips speaking to the band's lore, which often involve multiple skits or cameos.

Ghost will embark on a run of tour dates in France and Germany in May and June, respectively. Tickets are on sale. They also have a string of festival dates in the diary, including the UK's Download festival.
