The Veronicas have shared another song from their upcoming sixth studio album.
Following autumn single Perfect, Detox is the second taster of what's to come on 'Gothic Summer', which is out in March, though a release date is still to be confirmed.
The energetic pop-rock offering tackles toxic relationships, and arrives with a video from BMX rider turned director Pat Freyne. Commenting on the making of the clip, The Veronicas' Jessie and Lisa Origliasso said:
"We contrasted wide shots with extreme close-ups, and purposefully improvised dance scenes to encourage physical and emotional mirroring in the moment. A mix of '60s choreography, fused with some Michael Jackson kicks and high energy, to encapsulate the fighting emotional volatility of the song. The video ends in a burst of underwater color and sinking euphoria upon the tempo change, giving in to the push-pull cycle of the song’s lyrics."
The Australian alt-pop duo will support the album with a previously scheduled US tour in the spring, with summer European dates still to be announced.
