Mariah Carey will return to the UK in the summer.
The five-time Grammy-winning singer will headline Brighton Pride's Pride On The Park event in the city's Preston Park on August 2, taking to the stage five years after the Covid-19 pandemic scratched her planned 2020 appearance. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on February 21. She said:
"I can't wait to see all of your beautiful faces at Pride on the Park 2025. It's going to be a scorcher."
Carey follows in the footsteps of 2024 headliners Girls Aloud, and Black Eyed Peas, who topped the bill in 2023. The news was confirmed with a post on Brighton and Hove Pride's social media accounts. Managing Director Paul Kemp commented:
"We are beyond thrilled to have the global icon Mariah Carey headline Pride on the Park this year. We were so excited to have her join us in 2020 and absolutely gutted the show couldn’t go ahead due to pandemic restrictions that summer. Pride is always an amazing weekend of celebration and inclusiveness of our city, and this year is going to be incredibly momentous. Our annual community parade will kickstart proceedings and with this year’s theme of Ravishing Rage, we march with unstoppable energy and fearless spirit, turning adversity into triumph. We can’t wait to show you everything that we’ve got planned for Pride ‘25!"
The 2025 edition of Pride On The Park will take place on August 2 and 3, with more acts still to be announced.
Carey will wrap up her current Mariah Carey: The Celebration of Mimi Live in Las Vegas residency at the Dolby Live at Park MGM this Saturday (February 15). The run began in spring 2024 and sees her celebrating her 2005 album, 'The Emancipation of Mimi', as well as performing other hits from her discography.
Her most recent studio album is 2018's 'Caution', though she has also put out several anniversary editions of previous records, and a companion album to her 2020 Apple TV+ special, Mariah Carey's Magical Christmas Special.
