Black Honey have laid out plans for their fourth album.
'Soak' will arrive on August 15, marking the British indie band's first full-length release since 2023's 'A Fistful of Peaches’.
In a similar vein to their previous albums, which saw them draw inspiration from cult film directors — Quentin Tarantino ('Black Honey' and 'Written & Directed') and Wes Anderson ('Fistful Of Peaches') — 'Soak' is shaped by a Stanley Kubrick-inspired aesthetic. Vocalist Izzy B. Phillips said:
"'Soak' is me processing a decade of touring and creating music and art as an addict. It’s me picking at the layers of messy, romantic, confusing, woozy, beautiful and fucked up things. Who I thought I was, who I was supposed to be and who looks back at me now are all so different but I’m kind of here for it."
It'll feature 12 tracks, including the previously unveiled Psycho, and the newly shared Dead, a swirling, psych-rock anthem that incorporates lyrics that play on imagery from the eyeball torture scene in the film A Clockwork Orange: "and you couldn’t decide to stab my back or my eyes / Oh no, I know what you like / Just press on the knife."
Having played an intimate ballot-only show in Manchester last night (April 15), Black Honey will preview their new music at gigs in Patterns, Brighton tonight (April 16), and London's Omeara tomorrow (April 17).

1. Insulin

5. Soak
