The Last Dinner Party's L.Mayland Announces Debut Solo EP 'The Slow Fire Of Sleep'

The Last Dinner Party's guitarist L.Mayland has announced their debut solo EP.
The musician, aka Lizzie Mayland, took to social media to reveal that 'The Slow Fire Of Sleep' was recorded alongside Imogen and The Knife, and Will Lister. Ahead of its release on May 9, Mayland has shared the poignant, stripped back lead single, Lighthouse, which arrives with a video by frequent collaborator Cal McIntyre. Mayland said in a statement:
"Lighthouse is about being in a healthy romantic relationship for the first time in my life and the fear of losing that. I storyboarded an idea for the video, then I heard Cal wanted to direct it and I was so pleased. He captured the elements which were the most important to me before lending his own aesthetic talents."
Mayland will celebrate the EP with shows at London's St. Matthias Church on May 9 and Manchester's Castle Hotel on May 11. Tickets are on sale now.
The two-time BRIT Award-winning The Last Dinner Party released their debut album, 'Prelude To Ecstasy', in February 2024, followed by a deluxe edition, 'Prelude To Ecstasy: Acoustics and Covers', that October. They'll play several UK festivals this summer. Tickets are on sale now.
