The Alarm Frontman Mike Peters Dies Aged 66

Tuesday, 29 April 2025 Written by Jon Stickler

Mike Peters, frontman of the Welsh rock band The Alarm, has died aged 66.

Peters had been undergoing treatment for fast-growing lymphoma, after he was first diagnosed with blood cancer three decades ago. His death was confirmed by a spokesperson for the Love Hope Strength charity he co-founded with his wife in 2006.

Born in Prestatyn, North Wales, Peters rose to fame in the early '80s with The Alarm, who had hits with Sixty Eight Guns and Strength. During his career, he shared stages with U2 and Status Quo on tour, and played with Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen.

He was awarded an MBE in 2019 for his services to cancer care.
