Iwan Rheon Announces Second Album 'I Just Wish I'd Never Gone To Space'

Iwan Rheon has announced a new album.
The Welsh singer-songwriter, musician and actor, best known for his role as Ramsay Bolton in the HBO television series Game of Thrones, will release 'I Just Wish I'd Never Gone To Space' through AWAL Recordings on July 3.
Produced by Chris Hyson, who has worked with Jordan Rakei, the album will arrive a decade on from Rheon's 2015 debut 'Dinard'. Commenting on Hyson, Rheon said:
"I love the way he creates really lovely soundscapes, a rich sound which I really like. As soon as we got chatting, his references were similar to mine. We both love The Smile, Bon Iver, Big Thief - I think Adrienne Lenker is one of the best."
To coincide with the announcement, the Carmarthen-born, Cardiff-raised artist has shared the first single from the record, Forward Motion, which builds through introspective lyrics and finger-picked acoustic guitar melodies.
"Forward Motion is about falling in love, being scared but looking forward not back," Rheon explained. "Before recording it in the studio I did a demo version at home and sent it over to Chris so he could get an idea of what I had in mind, which was a slow build and then a sort of explosion in the finale. Each chorus is layered with more BVs and we added more instrumentation to each verse & chorus, and then we went to town as the song crescendos at the end."
