The first acts have been announced for a new 2026 concert series, Canterbury Summertime Live.
Taking place at St Lawrence Ground, home of Kent Cricket, the series will be headlined by Becky Hill on August 8 and Madness on August 9. Ella Eyre and Mia Kirkland will support the former, and Cast and The Beat featuring Ranking Jr the latter.
The open-air venue has previously hosted concerts by Elton John, Simply Red and Bryan Adams, with organisers saying the festival will, "bring together some of the UK’s most exciting artists and all day festival line ups, attracting over 40,000 music lovers to Canterbury across the weekend."
Becky Hill has a number of shows in the diary for the summer, including performances at the Eden Sessions, Cannock Chase Forest for Forest Live, York Racecourse, The Park Series at Hitchin Priory, and Colchester Castle Summer Series.
The BRIT Award-winner will also headline the inaugural Australian edition of the British festival Mighty Hoopla on Bondi Beach in February, alongside Kesha, and Together Again Festival at Bolesworth Castle in Chester next summer.
She released her second album, 'Believe Me Now?', in 2024. Earlier this year, she teamed up with Alesso on the single Surrender, and features on Gary Barlow's August track Don't Look Down.
Madness also have a busy summer lined up in 2026, with shows confirmed at the Live At The Piece Hall series in Halifax, Norwich's Earlham Park for the Rock N Roll Circus, Scarborough Open Air Theatre, Live At Lincoln Castle, and the Newmarket and Haydock Park Racecourses. They'll also play next year's In It Together Festival in South Wales and Boomtown Fair in Winchester.
They're currently touring the UK with the winter leg of their Hit Parade Tour, which continues with a show at Leeds' First Direct Arena tonight (December 12). The tour's name comes from the title of their new greatest hits album, 'Hit Parade', which came out in November.
