The Black Crowes Announce New Album 'A Pound Of Feathers'

The Black Crowes have laid out plans for a new album.
Founded by brothers Chris and Rich Robinson, the Grammy-nominated Atlanta rock legends will release 'A Pound of Feathers' on March 13 via Silver Arrow Records. It was written solely by the brothers and recorded in Nashville with acclaimed producer Jay Joyce.
The follow-up to 2024's 'Happiness Bastards' is previewed by the newly shared opening track, Profane Prophecy, a bright and soulful rock groove, as well as the more restrained, acoustic guitar-driven Pharmacy Chronicles.
"We made this record in eight to ten days," Chris said. "Bringing the high and inspiration from 'Happiness Bastards' into this album, it was a natural progression. We experimented more, we wrote on instinct and how we were feeling in the moment. Rich brought a spontaneity to the record that I can’t describe, but it’s the best shit he’s ever done."
"This album feels transformative to us," Rich continued. "Going back to our roots, we felt that spark in the studio and how we work together. Lighting a fire that hits harder, more jagged but is still true to our musical essence."
Since 'Happiness Bastards', which earned a nomination for Best Rock Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards, The Black Crowes have reissued their 1994 third album 'Amorica' as an expanded three-CD and five-LP set and re-released their live collaboration, 'Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes: Live at the Greek' for its 25th anniversary.
Last November, the band were confirmed for the inaugural State Fayre festival in Chelmsford, England in June, sharing the bill with Kings Of Leon, Neil Young and The Chrome Hearts, and The Lumineers, who headline across the weekend.
Their UK return follows tours of Australia and Japan in April. They'll also support Guns N' Roses at shows in Las Vegas, Edmonton, Vancouver and San Diego between August 22 and September 2. Tickets are on sale now.
