José González Shares New Single, Confirms Autumn UK & European Shows

José González has shared another single from his upcoming fifth album.
Built around the Swedish songwriter's intricate finger‑picked guitar and warm, intimate vocals, the folk-inspired A Perfect Storm marks the latest preview of 'Against The Dying Of The Light', due out on March 27. The song's accompanying video is currently in production and will be unveiled soon. González said:
"A Perfect Storm is about how we ourselves are creating the conditions for a more and more turbulent future. Compared to natural risks, these are man-made, and therefore not random."
The Grammy-nominated artist announced the follow-up to 2021's 'Local Valley' last month alongside the release of the title track and its video, directed by filmmaker Fredrik Egerstrand. The album will also include González's track Pajarito, which dropped back in November.
He will support its release with a previously scheduled North American tour in spring with Abby Sage, followed by new dates in Germany in May, already confirmed shows across Europe in June and July, and a new UK and European tour in the autumn, which concludes with a performance at London's Eventim Apollo on November 26.
Tickets for his new spring and autumn European dates go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (February 27), while his London show goes on sale at 9am local time. Tickets for his spring North American tour and summer European shows are on sale now.
He will also celebrate the album's release with a special in-store event at Rough Trade East in London on March 30. Head here for details.
