Kurt Vile has laid out plans for his first new album in four years.

'Philadelphia’s Been Good To Me' will arrive through Verve on May 29, following up 2022's '(Watch My Moves)' and his 2023 EP 'Back To Moon Beach'. He also put out a five-track EP titled 'Classic Love' with collaborator Luke Roberts last year. Vile said:

"This is my ‘bringing it all back home to Philly’ record. I’m treating it like my last record. I put everything into it. It’s my best vocal record. It’s my best electric guitar record. It’s my most organic record, made in the comfort of my own zone."

Alongside the announcement, the Philadelphia singer-songwriter has shared the record's lead single, Chance To Bleed, which serves up lackadaisical vocals over woozy guitar and a laid-back groove, with guest vocals from Natalie Hoffman (NOTS, Optic Sink), Ethan Buckler (King Kong, Slint) and Greg Cartwright (Reigning Sound, The Oblivions), the latter of which also contributes lead guitar to the song.

Vile and his band The Violators have also scheduled an extensive run of live dates for the summer and autumn, billed as the KV's Been Good To Me Tour, kicking off with North American dates split across two legs, the first in June and July, and the second in November. In between, he'll travel to Europe for shows in August and September, with the trek including a run of UK and Ireland dates that feature an appearance at End Of The Road festival in Dorset on September 6.

The North American legs will feature opening sets by The Sadies, Ryan Davis & The Roadhouse Band, Being Dead, Tagabow, Twisted Teens, Alex Amen and Optic Sink on select dates, with Ryan Davis & The Roadhouse Band supporting the headline UK dates except Leeds. Tickets for all dates go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (April 10).
