Kurt Vile is an American singer-songwriter from Lansdowne, Pennsylvania.
Starting his music career in 2005, as a member of the indie band The War On Drugs, he released his debut solo album, ‘Constant Hitmaker’, in 2008 via Gulcher Records. This led to him signing with Matador Records and releasing, ‘Childish Prodigy’ in 2009, ‘Smoke Ring for My Halo’ in 2011 and ‘Wakin on a Pretty Daze’ in 2013. His latest album, ‘b'lieve I'm goin down…’ was released in 2015, and hit #25 in the UK Albums Chart.
In 2017, Vile released a collaborative album with Courtney Barnett, 'Lotta Sea Lice', which they toured together around the world.
He has headlined his own shows and tours across the USA and UK, and has supported the likes of Dinosaur Jr, Thurston Moore and Fucked Up.
Back in 2018, Vile is now set to tour the UK, Europe, North America and Australia with The Violators throughout the rest of 2018 and into April 2019, surrounding a new album 'Bottle It Up', which is due for release in October.
